Thank you to our fellow community members and guests who joined us at the 2024 Affordable Housing Awards Breakfast (AHA) on April 11th at Orange Hill Restaurant. The annual event brought together affordable housing developers, housing advocates, community members, elected officials and nonprofits committed to creating affordable housing in Orange County.
Co-hosted by the Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, The Kennedy Commission and Orange County Community Housing Corporation, this year’s event featured seven awards, recognizing the transformative work of Orange County affordable housing developers and advocates over the past year, in addition to paying tribute to our dear friend and mentor, Allen Baldwin, who created the AHA Breakfast over 40 years ago and encouraged all to "Be the Change You Wish to See in the World".
With Orange County being the eighth most expensive urban area in the United States according to the 2023 Cost of Living Index, creating accessible and affordable housing is vital to ensuring that Orange County’s low-income residents can have a safe and affordable place to call home. By honoring achievements in affordable housing at the AHA Breakfast, we hope to empower housing developers and advocates to continue to create access to affordable housing opportunities throughout Orange County.
Congratulations to our AHA 2024 awardees and thank you to our many supporters who continue to advocate in support of housing those most in need throughout Orange County.
